Brent: shaping the blade.
Mar. 22nd, 2012 09:05 pmI'm using my low-speed 4x36" belt sander to do the job. Slowly...

.. but surely:

Controlling each and every move, cause I have only one blade.
This is slow, boring process, which can take hours in some cases.
The reason for shaping the blade in nearly completed knife is to make sure that the blade will be centered inside while closed.

:) It is now.
Tomorrow: finishing the sides, I need to manually file areas close to handle because sander cannot get too close to them. Will be fun. Not for me though.
But on a bright side this is the last most labor intensive step. Rest will be walk in the park. Or so I think.
